Sri Jwalamalini | 14th Lunar Day

The Goddess Jwalamalini whose name means “garlanded with flames” rules over the 14th lunar day. She rules over this day along with Venus and is associated with self-sacrifice through burning of the ego. The fire representative of devotion can help burn through any karma on this auspicious day.

The nakshatras associated with this goddess are Punarvasu, the last two paras of Shatabhisha and the four pandas of Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada and the first two padas of Revati.

The tithi that overlooks this day is Chaturdashi tithi which brings about intense feelings of unrest due to its ugra, or fierce, nature. This friction within can help us rise these emotions to the surface so we can process and release them.

Goddess Jwalamalini is a Divine Mother that through her ferocious flames can help us rise our vibrations to a higher consciousness beyond the ego.

Her mantras are: OM AIM HRIM SHRIM AUM JVALAMALINIYAI NAMAH + OM AIM HRIM SHRIM AUM ANGADAYAI NAMAH

This is a beautiful moment to surrender to love, to be patient with ourselves and above all, to be grateful for the hardballs that life throws at us.
